We all have goals in life, which some might even describe as a “life purpose” or even a “life mission.” Our sense of mission as individuals, organizations, and even countries, guides our activities and helps us focus on what is truly important. But life is not static. New challenges must be met and coarse corrections made to stay on our “true north.” We can also become distracted by particulars that don’t move us forward and may even set us back. At times like this, it’s often useful to “recommission our mission” and consider how our UU values must be most strategically applied to meet new demands and move us forward toward what’s truly important and defines who we are and what we do.
