What happens when modern physics and ancient Indian wisdom arrive at surprisingly similar questions about reality? This talk explores the fascinating connections between quantum pioneers Werner Heisenberg and Erwin Schrödinger and other Quantum physicists in Indian philosophy. Central to the story is Heisenberg’s 1929 meeting with Rabindranath Tagore, after which Heisenberg said that some ideas of quantum physics that had seemed “so crazy” suddenly made much more sense. We’ll explore what this convergence might teach us about consciousness, interconnectedness, our assumptions about separateness, and how we might live with greater humility, curiosity, and compassion.
